Through breath, voice, and ceremony, you will be walked from the noise of the surface world into the quiet architecture beneath it. Heart rate slows. Breath deepens. The nervous system is invited out of survival and into restoration.

A Word on the Wheel

The Medicine Wheel
is not a metaphor.
It is a living teaching.

The Medicine Wheel is a sacred framework carried by many Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island. It maps the four directions, the cycles of the seasons, the stages of life, and the inner landscape of a human being. Each direction holds its own teachings, its own animal, its own gifts.

In The Dream Lodge, the four directions are offered as a doorway into the four stages of sleep — a way to make the architecture of rest feel familiar to the body and meaningful to the spirit. This work is shared with reverence, in the lineage as it was passed to me, and with full acknowledgment of the peoples who have carried these teachings for generations.

I walk this path under the guidance of my spiritual council, in honor of the lineages and elders who have carried these teachings before me, and continue to walk them today.

The Architecture of Rest

What is happening underneath
is measurable.

Within minutes of entering the Lodge, the body shifts out of the sympathetic state — the chronic, low-grade fight-or-flight most adults live in — and into parasympathetic dominance. This is the only state in which true recovery occurs.

Heart rate variability rises. Cortisol drops. Brainwaves slow from the busy electricity of waking life into the long, restorative waves of deep rest.

This is the territory athletes use for recovery. Surgeons enter it before procedures. The nervous system was built for it. We have simply forgotten the way in.
